Introduction to Finnish 3 Day Intensive

This intensive introduction course will offer students basic knowledge of the Finnish language. Students will practice pronunciation, learn some basic grammar and vocabulary in Finnish. They will learn how to introduce themselves, how to greet others and how to conjugate some basic verbs.

COURSE OUTLINE

• Finnish pronunciation (double and single sounds, diphthongs)
• Greetings, introducing oneself, basic biographical information
• Conjugation of certain basic verbs in present tense
• Introduction to declensions in Finnish, Some Finnish traditions

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

1. Learn to pronounce Finnish words
2. Learn to greet others and introduce yourself
3. Familiarise oneself with basic grammar concepts in Finnish (declension of some noun cases and some verb conjugations)
