Italian Vocabulary and Listening Practice (B1)
This course is suitable for pre-intermediate and intermediate students who would like to learn new words, phrases and idioms (particularly “spoken Italian", which is less formal than written Italian) and complete a variety of activities to improve and enhance their listening skills. The tutor will provide a specific list of vocabulary topics which will be discussed in class, with students delving deeper into vocabulary and practising it through specific listening exercises based on the vocabulary of the day.

COURSE OUTLINE
- Introduction of interesting vocabulary that will be used during the lesson, typically found in spoken Italian
- Making a distinction between formal and informal vocabulary
- Presenting a variety of listening activities taken from various sources (e.g. commercials, the news, podcasts, songs, etc.)
- Correction of the activities as a group
- Using the “vocabulary of the day” to create sentences.
- Feedback given to the whole class and individual students
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Be more confident and skilled at using various terms and idioms in their conversations
- Have a better understanding when they listen to something in Italian
- Feel more ready and confident to talk about any topic
- Use better spelling and general comprehension
- Have an improved knowledge of Italian “slang”
