Italian Book Club (B2-C1)
This course provides advanced learners with the opportunity to engage in authentic language communicationwhile exploring classic and modern Italian authors, such as Alessandro Baricco, Gianrico Carofiglio, Leonardo Sciascia, and Oriana Fallaci. Books by Italian authors will be read and analyzed in small and large groups in order to gain a deeper understanding of the texts. Every term a new book will be read and discussed, therefore the course is suitable to both new students and returning Book Club members. The Book Club will create multiple opportunities for participants to interact with each other and share ideas and opinions. The cultural and historical context of each book will be also analyzed, deepening participant’s knowledge of the Italian culture, society and history.
