Norfolk Island - Convicts, Mutineers & Redemption

"I took possession of this isle and named it Norfolk Isle in honour of that noble family" (an entry from James Cook's journal) - Norfolk Island played a large part in Australia’s early colonial history. This tropical Island was a penal settlement as well as being home to the descendants of the Bounty mutineers. We explore the geography and history of the island.

  • Pier Store Museum – All about the Mutiny on the Bounty
  • Pitcairn Settlers Village – Built by George Bailey and Emily Christian
  • Captain Cook Lookout – View of Cook’s landing point.
  • National Park – Established in 1984.
  • Cascade Pier – The northern pier used when Kingston pier is inaccessible.
