Portuguese Intermediate 3 (B1)
This course aims to provide students with knowledge and skills to be able to write and speak the Portuguese language with more fluency. Students will have the opportunity to focus on specific skills, such as extending vocabulary in given areas, improving written language. The course uses group discussions and individual presentations by the students on various topics (culture, society, environment etc.) to build on the competencies achieved in previous levels. The course will allow you to practice and improve your writing, speaking and listening skills in Portuguese through a wide variety of activities.
This class will be delivered online via the online platform Zoom. Enrolling students need to ensure they have an email, a reliable internet connection, microphone/speakers and access to a tablet, smartphone or computer. Classes will consist of a minimum of 1.5 hours virtual class time, together with 30 minutes worth of work to be completed independently. You will be able to contact your tutor by email or phone to ask for guidance and feedback on this work. In addition tutors may set additional homework.

CLASS PLAN
Nine Sessions that aim to build general basic comprehension and communication skills in elementary Expressing an opinion and debating Portuguese.
CONTENT
Conversational Portuguese and an introduction to cultural practices, with a focus on clear explanation of basic language principles.
PLANNED LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Communicate in fluent Portuguese in particular to give assistance, direction and instructions to Portuguese tourists.
- Increase the skills, vocabulary and study attitude required for continued study of Portuguese.

LANGUAGE CLASS TRANSFER POLICY
If you are a new WEA Student and enrol into a language class and subsequently find that you are at the wrong level (whether too high or too low), you are permitted to transfer into another more suitable class at no additional cost, provided that the request is made within the first two classes and is in writing from your tutor directly to the Education Manager. After that point, an administration fee of $30 will apply.
