Phillip was a far-sighted governor who soon saw that New South Wales would need a civil administration and a system for emancipating the convicts. We follow his progress from arrival and walk in his footsteps to the head of the Parramatta River.

  • Parramatta riverside Walk graphics – A colourful series of graphics depicting early settlement.
  • Lennox Bridge – One of Australia’s earliest bridges.
  • Marsden Street Weir – Installed by Gov. Macquarie in 1818.
  • Old Government House – The original building was pre-fabricated and shipped on the First Fleet.
  • Head of the River – Where Darling Mills Creek and Toongabbie Creek meet.
