Christmas is the perfect opportunity to bring out the crochet hook and any leftover yarn from projects worked throughout the year. From Christmas-themed coasters and table runners, to stocking-fillers and small gifts for loved ones, there is much that can be achieved with even a basic knowledge of crochet. Absolute beginners, beginners and continuers welcome.

By the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Use leftover yarn to crochet a small item for the Christmas season
- Understand and execute the techniques for joining in new yarn and changing colours
- Read, understand and customise a crochet pattern for Christmas
- 100g (or 2x 50gs balls) of yarn in 8ply or thicker and in two DIFFERENT colours (avoid white, black or navy). Yarn is stocked at Spotlight, Lincraft, Big W, Kmart, Riot Art & Craft
- 1x crochet hook in the recommended chosen yarn size
- 1x darning needle (darning needles are larger in size than a regular sewing needle, have a blunt tip and also a much larger eye)
- 1x pair of sewing scissors
IMPORTANT: Please arrive to the first class with all the relevant materials. A lack of materials is not just a handicap to you but to the ability to teach. Materials cost is not included in a course fee. In the event of a course being cancelled WEA cannot be held responsible for the purchase of any course materials. We therefore suggest you purchase your materials closer to the time of the course commencing.
