The Adventures of Captain Bligh
William Bligh is famous as captain of the Bounty, the ship he lost to mutineers led by Fletcher Christian. But few people know that Bligh was the centre of a later, much larger mutiny, when he lost not just a ship but the entire colony of NSW to a group of disgruntled settlers and soldiers. We look at Bligh’s seafaring journeys with James Cook, the remarkable story of survival after the mutiny on the Bounty and the later “Rum Rebellion”.
