  • Integrated discussion of the speech's structure and the play’s myth, in social and cultural contexts.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Read and understand unabridged passages of Euripides’ play.
  2. Discuss the social and cultural contexts of ancient Greek tragedy.
  3. Read and understand Lysias' speech 12.
  4. Discuss court procedures and cultural practices in Ancient Athens.
