Experimental Drawing and Painting
Experimental approaches to drawing, painting and printmaking. In this course students will learn how to think experimentally in their approach to art-making. Experimental still life, collaging, dry-point printing, collagraph-making, painting (gouache, acrylic and water colour), relief printing, toner transfer and avant-garde drawing practices will make up the course. We will look to a broad range of modernist and contemporary artists who utilise these techniques in their practices. This research will help inform our own making as a collective. Each student will collate the skills learnt in this class to complete a final collaged work of all their techniques. This collage will be a body of work - either one large print or a series of prints.
