You will also explore contemporary literature and learn how to talk about a book you enjoy. Grammar and vocabulary are taught in context, covering the passive voice and nominalisation to emphasise information, the gerund to provide detail, the conditional for suggesting ideas, the subjunctive for expressing wishes and hopes, and the different uses of the pronoun on. Phonetics is integrated throughout, with focused practice on the sounds [ø] and [œ], consonant and vowel linking, and accurate pronunciation of verbs in the subjunctive.
