Marble to Marvel
The course covers stone sources, tools and materials as used from the Bronze Age through the Greek Archaic and into the Classical and Hellenistic periods. It includes the technology involved in preparing a column base for the Parthenon and its installation as well as some of the principles underlying the continuing restoration project. It also reviews the various uses made of the Parthenon through the ages.
