This course is for students who have completed studies of Ancient Greek language to an intermediate standard or who wish to brush up on previous Greek language studies. We will read extracts from Euripides' Medea examining the techniques of Ancient Greek drama in its social and cultural contexts. We will also read extracts from Lysias' speech Against Eratosthenes as an example of the importance of rhetoric to Ancient Athenian society.
