This introductory course builds the foundations needed to communicate in simple everyday situations while developing your understanding of essential Modern Greek grammar and vocabulary. It is ideal for learners interested in learning Modern Greek for cultural interest or personal enrichment in a supportive and interactive learning environment.

You will practise communication in situations such as introducing yourself, exchanging personal information, and using formal and informal greetings. Grammar is introduced naturally through these interactions, including gender agreement, basic case forms, present tense verbs, and simple sentence structures with “to be.” Vocabulary and phonetics are integrated throughout, including everyday topics such as numbers, nationalities, and daily contexts, as well as the Greek alphabet and key pronunciation features like stress, vowel length, and sound patterns.
