Eastertide, one of the major festivals of the year, always gives rise to superb music & art, both sacred & secular throughout Europe. Come & enjoy this varied selection of great celebratory music & its contexts: from Orlando di Lasso in Renaissance Munich, to Handel in Italy & London, Vivaldi in Venice, Alessandro Scarlatti in Rome, J.S. Bach in Leipzig, C.P.E. Bach in Hamburg, Mozart in Salzburg, & Rimsky-Korsakov in Imperial Russia. Instrumental & vocal works will be included – an overture, sinfonias, motets, arias, choruses, antiphons, & extracts from two Easter oratorios.
