Just an hour north of Sydney, Brooklyn sits between the Hawkesbury River and Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park in a setting where transport history, natural beauty and local stories meet. This course explores the town’s significance through its bridge, railway and river connections.
You’ll hear about the railway bridge that helped pave the way to Federation, major rail disasters, surprising local identities and Brooklyn’s place in Australian screen history. The walk begins with a bus ride to Kangaroo Point before returning along the riverside into the heart of town.
Please ensure your mobile phone number is up-to-date with WEA before enrolling and ensure that you have it with you on the day in case the tutor needs to contact you. Meet at Hawkesbury River Station 10 minutes before the tour starts so it can commence on time. Please check the Transport NSW website for further travel information on how to get there.
