Enjoy a richly atmospheric exploration of winter in both music and visual art, from the Baroque era to the 20th century. Beginning with Vivaldi, the composer most closely associated with the seasons, the course also features works by Haydn, Schubert, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Debussy and Poulenc.
Each musical selection is paired with winter imagery by artists of the same broad period, revealing shared moods, themes and ways of seeing. A rewarding course for anyone who enjoys listening across the arts and discovering how music and painting can illuminate one another.

- Vivaldi's Winter from the Four Seasons
- Extracts from Haydn's Winter from his oratorio: The Seasons, Schubert's Winterreise, Chopin's Etudes, Tchaikovsky's The Seasons, Debussy's Children's Corner and Preludes, and Poulenc's song La blanche neige
