Salvador Dalí is best known for The Persistence of Memory, but his creativity extended far beyond painting. This course explores the surprising breadth of his work, from fashion and jewellery to film, and considers how his restless imagination helped define Surrealism in the public mind. Drawing on a recent visit to the museum Dalí established in his Spanish birthplace, the course examines his collaborations, his flair for spectacle and his fascination with Sigmund Freud. A stimulating class for anyone curious about modern art, Surrealism and the many sides of Dalí’s talent.
